Who?
A team of industry professionals, respected editors and experienced journalists who use the technology they write about on a day-to-day basis, and share your pet hates when it comes to poorly thought-out design, niggly usability and baffling technobabble. In short, we feel your pain...
What?
Reviews, plain and simple. No fluff, no massive specification lists, no misleading, confusing "best-case" benchmarks... just the facts. What does it do? How does it do it? Does it do it well? Is it worth the money? This is what we want to know when reading a review, and we're sure we're not the only ones. Initially we'll cover higher-end cameras, computer kit, audio production tools, and related software and plugins. We figure there's enough sites out there already dealing with the consumer-targeted stuff, so we'll stick to what we know.
Why?
Because we genuinely believe there's a need for it. Currently reviews seem to be either PR re-writes to guide people on how best to spend their cash next time they hit Amazon (nothing wrong with that...), or total geek-outs for the gear-heads (again, if that's what floats your boat...). But for those of us who know the limitations of the entry-level kit, know what we want to achieve, and just want to know "is it any good?", the search for reliable information can be frustratingly fruitless. This is where we come in, with solid, knowledgable reviews explained in Layman's terms.
